The Arrival of Holy War

Dune pt.2 contrasts traditionally heroic imagery with dark overtones & the inescapable reality of this story; the reality that Paul Atreides is not a hero. Paul is a flawed man unintentionally given unimaginable strength, foresight and influence and uses it to start the "unquenchable fire" he once feared.
In many heroic tales, the rebirth is followed by triumph but the arrival of Paul Muad'dib Atreides is not triumph, it is tragedy.

I adore Dune pt.2 and I haven't really been able stop thinking about it. It's the most visceral theater experience I've ever had and I think it's some of the best worldbuilding ever put to film.
In it's gorgeous imagery, sets, costumes, sound design and music it carries immense symbolism and thematic weight.
It's hard to completely put into words how much I love this movie and why. As soon as I saw the movie, I had to put my feelings to (digital) paper and, after a few weeks of working on it occasionally, this piece (in its 2 variations) is the result.
